Sixel's fitness comes to Arbor Vitae

This month, Sixel’s Circuit Fit opened a new location in Arbor Vitae on Highway 51 in the mini-mall next to Coontail. Dave and his wife, Vicki Schmolze-Sixel, will be staffing the new site as well as the Eagle River location,
Presently, the Arbor Vitae location is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Currently, they are offering 30-minute independent circuit training sessions. And the first session is free!
Vicki will be offering a new exciting service, too. Cryolipolysis is the newest way to eliminate excess or stubborn fat by melting it by a new freezing technology. This is the same technology that is being marketed and widely advertised as “Cool Sculpting.”
“We can take care of wrinkles, (and fat on) the chin and the neck, and “crepey” skin. This is an alternative to liposuction and is less invasive. Fat cells are frozen beneath the surface of the skin and naturally drain out of the lymphatic system when you urinate,” Vickie explained. She also said that the machine is used to help heal scars or tissue and ligament injuries.
Vicki said the cost of these procedures will be less than Cool Sculpting services as she owns the machine and Cool Sculpting machines are leased. Vicki was formerly a surgical technician in plastic surgery. She is currently certified in cryolipolysis. How does it work?
“It’s basically freezing fat cells and getting rid of them,” she described. “It does come with cavitation that is supposed to help with tightening the abdomen, or the chin or the face. It also comes with RF (radio frequency) which works in smaller areas.”
There is a private room at the fitness center where these services will be offered. Vickie is making a list of those clients who wish to be contacted when the cryolipolysis is available. Cryolipolysis will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On the fitness side of the house, only circuit fitness is available through March. April 2, the Martial Arts program comes to Arbor Vitae. They will offer their youth, adult, and family martial arts programs.
Kickboxing will start in April. “A lot of different things are going on. A lot of specials are going on,” he said. For information about available specials, contact Dave for details.
Dave has developed a bully prevention martial arts programs. “Bullies tend to be weak people that pick on the smaller person. They are looking for these kids that walk with their heads down and have low self-esteem.
“With bully prevention and martial arts, it gives the kid more self-pride and self-confidence to walk with his head up and they are more aware of their surroundings.
“The best form of self-defense is common sense. A lot of people put themselves in bad positions. Being self-aware when it comes to bullying prevention is the best way to avoid it,” he explained. “What is your best weapon of self-defense? It’s your mind.”
Sixel’s has developed a way for children to work out alongside their parents. “What a cool bonding time! All our stations are designed so we can accelerate or tone it down to a person’s ability,” Dave said.
Sixel’s offers many different programs, such as specific sports enhancement training, personal training sessions, senior fitness programs, self-defense classes and much more.
Dave stresses that Sixel’s can provide any type of training and fitness program needed by an individual. Fitness training is designed for the individual. These individualized programs Dave identifies as “functional fitness.”
“We want to capitalize on what we do best. Mind, body, and spirit,” he said.
Team USA continues to be a big priority for Dave. “This is a big year for us. It was 20 years ago we went to Greece and as a team, we won the gold medal. Twenty years later, I will be coaching and taking the team over there. We will be going in November. We just got back from Portugal. And before that, we won the cup in Australia and we have to go back to defend it!
Both Dave and Vicki are cheerfully enthusiastic about working and living in the Northwoods. With individuals working out on their timetable, the fitness center’s relaxed atmosphere is fun and friendly.
“We have been doing this since 1982. Our motto is ‘Serving and Evolving with our Community’”
