A holly, jolly Eagle River
The day is finally here for Eagle River’s Christmas Kickoff, Dec. 7 at Riverview Park from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Make sure to get your merry on at the several other events happening around town!
Today at Trig’s visit the Mistletoe Market for a Cookie Walk and a visit with Santa Claus.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus visit with children at Pick N’ Save today until 3:00 p.m. They will return to hear the childrens’ wishes Dec. 14 and 15 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. This is a delightfully festive place for your children to ask Santa for their special wishes.

The Eagle River Business Association will offer horse-drawn sleigh rides through the downtown area from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. These rides will be available Dec. 7, Dec.14, Dec. 21 and Dec. 28.
The second annual Mistletoe Magic will be held Saturday, Dec 14. This is a wonderful time to finish your Christmas shopping and peruse the sales offered by these stores. At each participating business, you can register to win a gift offered by that store. Register at all the shops and increase your chances to win. Look for the large mistletoe sign in each participating business.
Back at Riverview Park, at 4:00 p.m. the Christmas Kickoff begins. There is another opportunity to see the jolly, old Elf as Santa visits with the children. Enjoy hot dogs, brats, and chili along with a steamy mug of hot chocolate and cookies.
It’s a true old fashioned celebration as carolers entertain the revelers. There will be picture-perfect horse-drawn sleigh rides and a bonfire to warm chilly fingers and toes. The ice skating rink will be open, so bring your skates and glide on the brightly lit pond.
At 5:00 p.m. the town’s Christmas tree will be lit by Eagle River’s Man of the Year, Denny Geiseman.
