Simply Pretty Spa

Things in the Northwoods are getting prettier with each passing day. This week we are showcasing a new beauty spa, Simply Pretty Spa in Eagle River.

The spa’s esthetician and owner is Lizeth Lanz Shattner, who opened her new spa on July 1, a delayed date due to COVID-9, of course. However, the delay did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the young artist, whose passion is transforming women into the ultimate confident and beautiful versions of themselves.

“I started doing makeup in 2015. There was a lot of freelancing. Due to that, I decided to go back to school to study Esthetics at San Diego City College. I got a job working at a spa in the little town I lived in, Jamul.”

For those unfamiliar with the term, in the beauty industry, esthetics refers directly to the health and beautification of the skin.

Shortly after beginning her new job, the couple decided to move to Eagle River this past February. It was quite a shift for the ambitious esthetician who had worked in many areas of California’s entertainment industry, doing makeup for TV, movie, and more.

As is the case with most new businesses that opened this year, her spring date had to be delayed. She worked on getting her Wisconsin license, which came on March 17, the first day of the Coronavirus shutdown.

Simply Pretty Spa was able to open July 1, thanks to the generosity of her mother-in-law, who let Liz move into her office suite.

Liz had tried to find an esthetician job at one of the local beauty salons, but estheticians are pretty rare in the area.

“A lot of people who do makeup say ’I just love making my clients look beautiful.’ “ Liz says, “I really love playing with makeup. I love doing character makeup. I also worked with a woman who did weddings and I was recommended to her by my school.”

Now, well on her way, Liz is offering a very tempting range of beauty services that not only pamper the skin, but also improve its health.

Among these types of services, you can select from is a chemical peel, to diminish the signs of aging, uneven skin tone, and acne. The result is a resurfacing that leaves the skin healthier.

Another very popular service that is good for both men and women is her Simply Pretty Facial which offers deep cleansing, an exfoliating mask to nourish and brightens your complexion. Add a hydrating mask, and a high-frequency treatment to stimulate collagen production, among other benefits.

Then there are the beauty enhancing services such as eyebrow waxing, lash extensions, lash lifts, and lash tints. Treat yourself to a brow tinting and shaping, lip, and underarm waxing. 

Then there is the ultimate treat, a full makeup session. Gift cards are also available if you want to make someone feel extra special.
